These are two cases where I think breed standards are bad for the dogs. Im sure there is more. In the end i think that breed standards are bad because they almost encourage inbreeding and they make dogs less healthy over all.

Pekingese is another example - they (together with shih tzus) too have issues with their eyeballs popping out easily. boxers are (GSDs) bred to have that stupid looking sloping backline which i think is pointless: i generally hate the dog show/kennel club industry, and honestly believe that with all these mentioned breeds - their breed standards should be revised to promote a healthier more natural conformation,, and all together phase out their current unnatural and unhealthy phenotypes. How English bulldogs should look: American bulldog: i hate that creepy looking egg head that English bullterriers have too. what they originally looked like:

As soon as they are created IMO. It's a slippery slope from there. Yes some are worse than others, but make no mistake every breed is being ruined by it's written standard.

my favorite thing about dogs is when form meets function. once there is no longer a function for the form besides side shows eruhum... i mean dog shows its a waste.
