Grizzly Bear
Vs.
Gmork
Welcome to the Battle for Earth! Extradimensional Aliens have decided to use our planet for their amusement, shifting creatures and robots from across the multiverse to ours. Your job is to determine the winners.
Combatants are from specific universes, and while parallel versions of themselves may exist, the specific version referenced in included in parentheses after the combatant's name. All machines requiring pilots will generally have their pilots named in their summaries, and those pilots are assumed to be in the machines. However, the Extraliens have implanted thoughts of aggressiveness in all of the combatants, and they must fight if the Extraliens pit them against one another. They have also been given knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses of those they fight against.
Write-ups are appreciated, as elements from the best write ups will be included in the story conclusion. Voting can be done like TOC, you may select a poll option and/or post your choice. All in-text votes MUST BE IN BOLD.
Round 1 fights will end Saturday, September 7th at midnight.
Background on the Combatants:
Spoiler (click to show)
Story: As the white light fades from Bear's eyes, he looks around in confusion. The pretty woman is gone, and the p redator machines are no longer spitting the painful sting-things at him. He looks back down at the steel and glass tree he was walking and suddenly realizes he's grown in size significantly. Then he looks around and realizes he's on a different steel hills that only looks like the one he was walking earlier. He's in a confusing man-city of lights now. Bear looks up at a glowing ethereal light and sees a giant black wolf like the ones he fought at home coalesce from the light. Bear feels rage that the black wolf would challenge him, and frustration at his confusion.
Gmork awakes to noise and lights. Where am I? What is this? Gmork looks around and feels a warm gust of air. Wherever this is, he is far, far from home, in a world of stinking men, and he feels a desire to kill them all. But then he spots a great ape staring at him, and for some reason feels compelled to destroy this creature. Gmork lets out a might shout, and the people below turn and point. Some even applaud. He spreads his winds and glides down the large cooridor between the large metal castles the humans have built for themselves. These castles won't protect you from me, he thinks as he unleases fire and frost on the men below, and glides closer and closer to the ape he knows he must kill.
Battlefield: North Pole, Alaska
Situation: The civilian population is conducting business as usual at the beginning of this match.
