The dingo is a large mammalian predator and is the dominate predator but its no match for an adult dragon, Hell they dont even screw with large perenties at least not without some backup. Back up is definitely the highlight of being a canine. You said it, However I think the dingoes group behavior would end up renforcing Komodo group feeding behavior, Which could lead to a dramatic and frankly awesome behavior shift in the komodos, group hunting.

I was thinking more along the lines of hyenas, AWDs, lions, leopards, and the like. But Australia's largest mammal predator is a dingo which is no match to a komodo dragon. Only a pack of dingos (however many needed) would be outright dominant over this reptile. For mammals that is. The difference between an AWD and a dingo are not great enough to merit them being on that list. AWDs would be viewed the same way the Komodos view the feral dogs on there islands, food. Leopards are incapable of taking the same large prey Komodos can and really niether are hyenas and clans could be detered by komodo group feeding behavior. so Lions.

The only individual carnivore that would be outright dominant to the dragon in Australia is the Saltwater Crocodile.
The freshwater crocodile, now that would be an interesting to debate. Which of these would come out on top if they competed in people's opinion.

I was thinking more along the lines of the pair disputing over a carcass near the water's edge. Which doesn't seem impossible.

Komodo dragons were said to be originally from Australia, so I dont think it would have problems. But no australian would want to have to deal with a giant venomous lizard coming into their backyards. They have enough venomous animals that can kill them already

The Dragon would be the ultimate predator there, it's Stronger than a Lion and a Tiger, braver than the Honey Badger, Scarier than the Saltie, the ORA is the king of all animals, not the Saltie, Tiger, or Lion. it would need 10 Dingoes to be equal to 1 Ora, I mean how could a wild dog defeat a colossal lizard? If the dragon's in africa, it would defeat Lions, eat Hippos for lunch and eat Elephants for dinner, and snack on Hyenas.

The Saltie's got Ambush strategy, Strength, and Power. Well that's my opinion .
