The Saltwater Crocodile is just too large, is armored and is way too powerful for the tiger to handle. The tiger doesn't stand a chance in both land and water.

On land the crocodile would tire itself out trying to catch the tiger

On land the crocodile would tire itself out trying to catch the tiger I doubt that the crocodile would bother to chase a tiger. I have watched a video of a huge ( possibly one ton ) crocodile displaced an entire pride of lions from a carcass. I doubt very seriously that a tiger would challenge such a brute.

Could be because lions are afraid of crocodiles even on the former's own turf

The saltwater crocodile can bite the tiger apart. The tiger can claw the crocodile with its sharp claws. Tie
