Unless Its trying to feed itself reptiles usually avoid cats.

They are not use to being challenged it is a known fact that large carnivores including alligators are extremely cowardly animals that are afraid to fight because they don't want to risk getting hurt. that's why they keep fleeing from stuff you'd normally expect them to beat. they aren't nearly as formidable as media portrays if you ask me

Ya this really only works because this is an alligator, I highly doubt a big croc would hesitate to eat the cat. this has more to do the the gator's laid back attitude than anything else.
