Gemsbok horns can be effective. They can stab and also can be used for protection from the sides as well as the front, although it does have to bend its head down very low. Aggressive Gemsbok have successfully defended themselves from lioness attacks with those horns. I suppose a patient and determined lioness would be able to find an opening and bring the gemsbok down without getting stabbed, but the antelope has good chances of deterring the cat most of the time.

They can also stab at a lioness latched onto its rear or back
