domestic dog
dogs have a bite force of 351.5 Newtons , while not being very powerful compared to the other animals on this list it is still a pretty powerful bite .
human
humans have a bite force of 400.1 newtons , this is slightly stronger than the domestic dog , but still not all that powerful , but still strong enough to tear and chew different types of foods .
lions bite in at around 4,450 newtons which is pretty powerful , and one of the strongest bites out of any animal to ever exist .
tiger
tigers have a bite force of around 4,460 newtons which is slightly more powerful than the lion but still pretty strong , they use these teeth to rip through meats and fight against other animals.
jaguars slam their jaws at around 5,110 newtons , their jaws are so powerful and can even break through hard types of meats like the tough skin of frogs and toads and the rough shells of turtles.
hyena
hyenas have one of the strongest bites out of any animal too , they can bite in at around 6,000 newtons which is more powerful than a lion , tiger or jaguar bite , they use these jaws for eating types of meat as well as fighting against other hyenas to show dominance against other hyenas in the clan.
gorilla
gorillas slam their jaws at 8,000 newtons , meaning they have one of the most powerful bites out of any animal as well , they mostly use their teeth for eating bambo and to fight against other gorillas and other animals but they do eat meat and eggs from time to time .
grizzly bear
the grizzly bear slams its jaws at a whopping 9,800 newtons which is crazy infact they have the third highest bite force out of any land animal and they use their teeth for mostly eating meat and sometimes eating fruit and other types of plants.
hippos slam their jaws at 29,000 newtons which is crazy , although hippos have these big teeth , hippos are herbivores and not carnivores , they use these teeth to fight against other animals like other hippos and crocodiles and to eat fruits and other types of foods .
saltwater crocodile
saltwater crocodiles have the strongest bite force out of any animal to exist today , they bite in at around 50,000 newtons which is crazy and have the strongest bite of animal animal today , they are carnivores and only eat meat but sometimes use these teeth for fighting against other crocodiles and sharks that get too close.
