Theropithecus oswaldi is an extinct, giant relative of the modern day gelada, T. gelada. Details of their teeth indicate that the two likely don’t have an ancestor-descendent relationship; they shared a separate common ancestor from 2 to 3 million years ago. T. oswaldi is in particularly notable for its enormous size, topping out at around 100 kg, the same as a small gorilla. vs The Komodo dragon (Varanus komodoensis), also known as the Komodo monitor, is the largest living species of lizard, growing to a maximum length of 3 metres (10 ft). In the wild, an adult Komodo dragon usually weighs around 70 kg (150 lb), although captive specimens often weigh more.

Komodo dragons would win with just one tail slash or one bite.

that is a huge monkey! I feel this would be very similar to the komodo gorilla fight, in order to win the primates would have to strike hard and fast because any ensuing battle will be the dragons.

^I agree it is similar and because of that I figure it would end roughly the same way.

Komodo dragons would win with just one tail slash or one bite. No komodo would be able to kill with its tail. I would worry this guy may be a troll based on the hyena vs komodo thread and other stupid comments.

While it could be similar to a gorilla match, the baboon has arguably a better bite then a gorilla and is almost fully quadrupedal unlike apes which are more bipedal and may be at a greater disadvantage to the komodos bite. At the same time, the baboon is also smaller then a gorilla so the dragon has much better chances.
I want to know more about this giant monkey and I think the best information to get is on its modern relative the gelada. Modern gelada are more herbivorous then other baboons but they still have wicked fangs. Are gelada aggressive like other baboons?

It seems to me a bit hasty to lable one a troll for there overwhelming support of a species. Throw a constrictor in the ring with any animal of equal weights and suddenly I'm a troll lol. Also the loathing of ones home land is pretty common.

One tail slash would break you're ribcage.

We really are happy to have a new faces here oasegenggam, you bring new perspective and opinions to our topics. We do like to maintain some civility here however, people are going to disagree with your opinions and ridicule them, the best counter is to layout the facts and evidence of your position. Fishfan's troll assumption not withstanding, name calling as such is generally frowned upon.

Maybe they can break a humans rib but not this giant monkey. And just because they kill deer doesnt mean they would win every fight. The deer they kill are pretty small and are not powerful at all.

LOL, Timor Deers could reach up to 200 kg max, one tail slash would break the Monkey's body. The fights that Komodo dragons aren't gonna win is this: Ora vs Saltie (On water), Ora vs Hippo (On water), Ora vs Great White Shark (On water), and Ora vs 3 giant otters (On water). All the fights needs to be on water, since the animals the Ora's facing against is marine animals. But if it's on land Ora wins (Especially against the Shark)
