In my opinion:
In absolute terms: Gaur
Pound for pound: Spanish Fighting Bull
Most overrated: Cape buffalo
Your thoughts everyone?

"Overrated" or not you cannot ignore that the cape buffalo is a very formidable beast.

"Overrated" or not you cannot ignore that the cape buffalo is a very formidable beast. I wasn't saying they're not formidable. But people see them fighting lions and automatically think the cape buffalo is somehow the pitbull of all bovines which I don't think is true. Another very formidable bovine pound for pound IMO is the muskox.

The top contenders....
North America largest, most formidable beast...
This Indian brute, largely considered the worlds bigest bovid.
Another from Africa, famous for aggression.
One that's man made.
Some mountain bruisers
mustn't forget the wildcard!

Some banteng are like mini gaurs. Kouprey are so rare and unknown that its hard to get any idea about them. The anoa and tamaraw are reported to be aggressive, but are untested against predators and dont really look all to impressive.
