I think there was a thread about this. Fossilized skin found on Tyrannosaurus shows scales, so we know it wasn't FULLY feathered, but it certainly could have been partially feathered.

I'm not so sure I like t-rex anymore after reading this article. (I'm imagining a 7 ton Titanis Walleri)

Nah, it wouldn't have looked like that.
If Tyrannosaurus did have feathers, it still would have looked quite similar to the classic scaled T. Rex, given that long feathers would cause it to overheat. Furthermore they wouldn't have covered the entire body.
