Not a giant by any means, but a 10 ft croc is a large mature apex animal that one would assume has little to fear. *Insert star wars bigger fish reference here*

crocodiles can live much longer than a GWS. An old, experience male crocodile will be more accustomed to aggressive confrontation than a GWS.

Also, Salties have been known to swim dozens of kilometers out to ocean so even if the fight took place in the open ocean it isn't as outmatched as people think

Great White Shark wins. Faster, more agile, deadlier teeth, heavier, stockier and it is more powerful than the crocodile.

Saltwater Crocodile wins. Sharks - the bad fighters.
I am not confident in reliability of a case, but in 1939 20 ft. saltwater crocodile kills 18 ft. great white shark.
I also think that a 3 meter long crocodile in Africa was beheaded by screw of large ship. The shark could not bite off the head to a crocodile.

If what's been posted on the Carnivora variant of this thread is right, the shark's ~700kg on average while the croc would be ~464kg respectively. At max the croc's ~1,360kg while the shark's ~1,900kg. On average, the shark's (for all intents and purposes) ~51% more massive while at max it'd be ~40% more so. The shark should the winner in those cases while parity's a different story.

I think great white shark because it's a better swimmer but the saltwater crocodile can easily break the sharks bones

50/50 first bite ends this. Niether animal is going to be in for a long fight. The intitial strike if properly placed by either animal can finish this. Actually GWS can pretty survive crocodile bites. On other hand, I don't think a crocodile can survive a lethal bite of GWS. Also GWS are quite larger and heavier than saltwater crocodiles.

Great White Shark wins. Faster, more agile, deadlier teeth, heavier, stockier and it is more powerful than the crocodile. [b Crocodiles can sense vibrations in the water it would be able to then detect the shark coming st it's belly

I think at deep water the shark has a distinct advantage. BUT the crocodile can detect vibrations which means it will detect and move out of the sharks way just in time

the shark was likely much larger than the crocodile it killed. A bigger crocodile like Lolong or Gomek would not go down as easy Dude it's a 10 ft croc that was killed by a 20 ft great white

I think at deep water the shark has a distinct advantage. Of course, The crocs reliance on air is of its biggest disadvantages in this fight. Crocs can hold their breaths for 2 hours

Much like if the shark gets a bite on the crocs under belly, If the croc brings those jaws down on those exposed (by this i mean they lack the proction that other fish have) gills the fights probably over. Bite on the gills won't instantly kill a GWS as there are lot of GWS has scarred gills from bites from other sharks. On the other hand if the croc bit the sharks head which is cartilage it would win due to a bone crushing bite
