Hey Ryan, you said T.rex did not weigh 8 tons. There was an article posted on the 1st page that said t.rex may have weighed up to 9 tons. Could you explain why it's wrong? I'm not doubting your statement. If anything, I too am skeptical t.rex weighed 9 tons. I know nothing about skeletals and holotypes and all that jazz. But most of the max weights for tyrannosaurus generally put it at 7-8 tons (at bare maximum).

I’m leaning towards the Triceratops. Why? Well, some people have ignored a special factor only the Triceratops has: the ball joint. This will allow the ceratopsian to place its head between its body and the opponent in just a second. If it was a failed ambush, things won’t go well for Tyrannosaurus. Triceratops is wonderfully designed to take on the T-rex. One fossil even had a bitten off brow horn which had healed over time. This means that the Triceratops might have overcome the Tyrannosaurus. The frill also might have been brightly coloured, which would be enough to scare off even the largest T-rex. The only way a Tyrannosaurus could win is to do a successful ambush. Then it would most likely win. A single bite to the neck of the Triceratops would be enough to kill the ceratopsian. However, one wrong step and the Triceratops would gouge the T-rex’s soft underbelly, killing the king of the dinosaurs. But, in a head in fight, mostly the Triceratops would come out on top.
