the chimp is smarter, can use tools, and has better dexterity for one thing. But yeah, I agree a large male leopard's killing experience, aggression, claws, bite, and the chimp's fear of leopards proves too much.
Leopardess vs male chimpanzee then I'd back the ape due to weight and strength advantage

Is this some kind of joke? I'm sorry, but this is an INCREDIBLE mismatch. The leopard obviously has every possible advantage you can think of. The chimp has the better grappling and intelligence. But that's just about it. The leopard has every over advantage over the chimp. Speed, agility, better weaponry, aggression, better fighting ability and killer instinct. The chimp might be able to grapple with the leopard and might kill the leopard by strangling it, but that would be in 1 out of a million cases. Leopard wins 9/10, or even 10/10. The chimp stands no chance against the leopard whatsoever unless it was a really big male chimp against a female cape leopard or if it actually DID SOMETHING like strangle the leopard. Other than killing a defenseless leopard cub, is there any other evidence of chimps killing leopards? If not, then I still think that the Leopard will win 9-10/10.

I know. That's what I just stated earlier.
2 or 3 chimps could kill a prime male leopard but 1on1, it loses.

Hey thylacoleo, have you tried typing in Giant chimp on youtube and watched the video. I'm pretty one of those chimps could put up a strong fight against the average leopard. Besides that I completely agree with you on the outcome of this fight.

I have seen a video on animal planet back in 2005 were a actual male leopard chased a female chimp who was defending her young the chimpanzees got cornered by the leopard. The leopard leaped forward and the chimp brought down a rock onto the leopards head who freaked and ran off in defeat

Chimps are severely overrated in this forum, mismatch in favor of the leopard IMO, it has every single advantage. not really, we have/had a couple ape die hard fans but most of us dont hold them in the same regard as them.

I think 2 or maybe 3 chimps vs a leopard is somewhat debatable.

Leopard would still win against 3.

While the first chimp distracts the leopard from the front, the second and third chimps could jump the leopard from the side and behind.

And what kind of defense mechanisms do you think they would do other than flailing around or some hits?

And what kind of defense mechanisms do you think they would do other than flailing around or some hits? Chimps have been known to eye gouge and rip off testicles. But I changed my mind and agree a leopard would defeat two chimps. Three or four chimps however could be big trouble. Five would simply destroy the cat.

All this is assuming that the chimps don't freak out and scatter.
