Trust me you don't know how overrated Eagles really are. Well, on carnivoraforum, there was matches like American Pitbull Terrier vs Golden Eagle. So I guess Eagles are pretty overrated. Yeah.

Reticulatus: A brown bear would be destroyed in seconds by a giraffe. A lion pride cannot take down a prime bull giraffe the majority of times so how would a slower, less predatory bear have the know-how to do so? @carcharodontosaurus: Eland vs Giraffe, I'd favor the eland I don't know how much damage a giraffe's kick will do to an eland but a charging eland could easily topple the giraffe. @thyalcoleo: A walrus might win if the fight took place in deep water. Just maybe.

Giraffes seem to be one of those animals where in most cases, it would be one-sided if you pit them against an animal it has no size advantage against, especially if it has better armament while if you pit them against an animal significantly smaller than themselves, it would still be a mismatch, inferior weapons or not.
They're rather like sauropods and hadrosaurs in my honest opinion.

Dude, a walrus would lose to a giraffe on land all the time. It simply can't get in a position to hurt the giraffe. Same with an elephant seal.
@ dinopithecus: I agree.

Megalania could be a good match-up. I would expect a Megalania to kill the giraffe by severing through the achilles tendon if it bit the legs. However it has a risk of being kicked in the head by the giraffe if it's not careful which could damage it's skull pretty good.

Haven't been here forever.
Yeah, a Megalania's chances aren't that good IMO. The Giraffe's vital organs are out of reach and there's no way for the lizard (without a surprise attack) to get close enough to the giraffe face to face without being repeatedly stomped and kicked.
