Honestly,, about the only way i could picture a CL killing a moa is through ambush - dropping onto it from above and biting into its head or neck..

To me, a real mature fan of something is one who is able to acknowledge the weaknesses of their animal of choice...almost the opposite of what you state.

Have you read the latest posts by "Imperialdino" - the self-proclaimed "animal expert"? if you were such an expert you wouldn't be posting so many questions lol...

That's just it...also he pimps up Sri Lankan leopards (not even the largest leopards) for being apex predator in its range yet puts down and bashes the other subspecies all the time. it also seems he does the things he does to get a reaction out of others...but alas he usually end up making himself look like an idiot in the process..lolz I cross post matchups here and my forum that i feel are worthwhile...quality over quantity.

I find it strange that people over there claim that they are "animal lovers" yet they degrade vultures, insects, and other "vermin".

I felt dinosaurs were unfairly bashed on the board. Sure, I voted against dinosaurs a couple of times myself, but dinosaurs weren't gods after all. T rex caught the most flak, there were a few members in particular who seemed to think that Rexy had no fighting potential whatsoever. Sure it's overrated, but it IS one of the largest carnivores in history. Dromeosaurs on the other hand were seen as completely unstoppable. Most of the critics of T rex blame Jurassic Park for the hype, but the raptors were depicted much worse than T rex. No one cared when you supported Deinonychus for no reason, but if you like T rex then you were decried as a whining fanboy. On a side note, most people's poltical views were way too Politically Correct for my tastes. I feel the same way about the Ape vs Bear/Big cat topics. If you supported felines/bears over apes, you're safe. If you supported apes, you instantly became a target for haters like Gato Gordo and Vodmeister. Just because apes lack cheap gimmicks like claws and predatory tools people think they're weak as toilet paper. What's sad is that if a big cat kills something, people think its impressive. But when something kills a big cat, its considered degradation. Talk about double standards and hypocrisy. TheWho, arguably the most knowledgeable poster there when it came to apes, is no longer active. I'm no longer active there. So the haters are debating amongst themselves because they drove out the opposition with constant insulting and stupidity. I mean some feline siders insulted way more than TheWho ever did and yet they got out scott clean. Check the Tiger vs brown bear thread. 2/3rds of it consists of 4 catfans taking turns throwing cheap hits at 1 bear fan. And last time I checked, Vodmeister is baiting Tigerkid (one of the nicest posters on CF BTW) for favoring 2 gorillas over a tiger (?!). It's a total disgrace and no way in hell am I going to be caught with my foot posting in that Zombie Apocalpyse of a forum. Take out a few haters, big deal. They'll just come back with 30 more around the corner.

Gimmick-A trick or device intended to attract attention, publicity, or business.

I didn't literally mean they are cheap gimmicks. I was just using that expression to say that stuff like claws and predatory adaptations don't always win fights and are overrated. A lynx has predatory weapons. Doesn't mean its going to beat a human in a fight.

Well I can't really disagree with bias against non-mammals. Reptiles like snakes and komodo dragons are highly overrated on this forum despite evidence to the contrary. LeopJag: You want to know what's really ironic? I actually had a hard time getting the CF Admin to delete my account. First I went to Ursus and asked him to delete my account. He only suspended it for 1 week. So a week later I had to come back. I made a thread where I specifically said, "if Taipan and Ursus are reading this, please delete my account." Taipan instead deleted that thread without deleting my account. So I PMed Taipan and asked him to delete my account. About 20 minutes later, he did. And FINALLY my account was gone That took a lot of work didn't it? All of which can be condensed into a simple, Delete Account button.
