the heaviest cougar to my knowledge was 275 pounds intestines removed. Making it something around 300 pounds or heavier even when it was still alive.
That's similar to the maximum weight of a komodo dragon.

That's similar to the maximum weight of a komodo dragon. It had recently eaten and komodos can eat up to 80% of there body weight. That doesnt mean that it had eaten that much just that its last meal can heavily impact its weight.

A wild dragon is rarely over 150 lbs in the wild. Cougars vary greatly in size across their range, the small Florida Panthers rarely exceed 100lbs while the those of the Northern Rockies can regularly surpass 200lbs. Eastern cougars, now extinct reached similar proportions in the north of their range.

Shut up feline fan, have you seen Killer Dragons, only an old dragon weights 150 pounds, the youger ones are bigger, around 300-550 pounds and 3,5-4 meters long. You know nothing and the Komodo dragon wins this 60/40, it has a stronger tail and stronger claws, slicing teeth, a powerful neck and a powerful jaw. Shut up Feline Fan

I doubt he seriously thinks a komodo dragon can kill a saltwater crocodile, rhino, hippo, or elephant.

What about the thought that the feline could kill the komodo, but would itself die later from infection from the bite? Isn't that how the dragons hunt? By biting and then waiting for the prey to succumb to the effects? I doubt the cougar is going to have a medical doctor handy, so would this scenario result in a draw?

Komodo's hunt large prey with something of a one two punch, there bite causes lacerations that bleed profusely and envenomates further weakening there prey.

wait a minute, don't florida panthers and alligators interact? That might be relevant here.

That might be relevant here. other than the florida cougar being less well confused by what the animal it is trying to kill might be it wont be that relevent as alligators and komodos may have similar basic body plans and locomotion but there physical capabilities are very different (monitor lizard speed, stamina and agility vs physical power and superior armour alligator).

Florida panthers are also very small, rarely topping 100 lbs, so what ever advantage was gained from experience with reptiles will be lost in mass.
