yeah i actually think the megalania will win this fight. It's got a stronger looking skull and Cerato has to bend very low to attack it and unlike the kelenken, it's feet are located several meters away from its head so it wouldn't really be able to step on the lizard.

At equal weights, 50/50. A bite to the ceratosaur's legs can be devastating, but so would a bite to the squamate's head or neck. The varanid's lower center of gravity gives it easy access to the legs while the theropod's range advantage should also be very beneficial.

Yes a bite would be devastating, so much so that one bite would decide the outcome of the fight, ora can heavily hamper the mobility of quadripedal buffalo ten times their size with one bite, imagine what this animal could do, while a bite to megalania's head would be very damaging (although extremely difficult to do) a neck bite would be a great deal less so, ora have many an almost chain mail like structure of bone under their skin formed ny osteoderms. I would argue the range advantage is nearly nullified by having to place itself in a more cumbersome position in order to engage megalania.

I'm with you so far.
Why?
Perhaps.
I wouldn't. I really doubt bending down to attack shouldn't be such a big issue for theropods as many make it out to be.

Not perhaps, just yes, armour reduces damage. Why would it be difficult to bit megalania in the head? Is this a question I actually need to answer? Seriously man have you not noticed the tendency to protect their head that the majority of animals show? As well as the simple fact that the head is a comparatively tiny target. To say nothing of the fact that the lizard is proactively trying to attack an area with its head that makes it far more difficult for cerato to counter attack. Bending down to attack is more cumbersome action than just attacking its as simple as that.

I believe Megalania has a better advantage than Ceratosaurus, as the replies here have stated over and over again.

I also think the Ceratosaurus would win due to its agility and deadlier jaws.
