Would a grizzly even try to attack an animal so much bigger than itself? Like, I know it sometimes preys on female bison but you don't hear too much about them slaughtering male bison. Megalonyx is about 1 tons, and a grizzly would get battered and slashed by the sloth.

The Pleistocene grizzly was very likely in the size range of coastal brown bears, averaging perhaps 1,000 pounds or better. But, the ground sloth was even bigger. So big in fact, that the grizzly would certainly avoid the adults.
