I agree with D. Mike and CCA. An anteater's claws can open up termite mounds so they'd have no problem ripping up the wolf. Jaguars and pumas flee from anteaters sometimes so the wolf would also flee. When wolves hunt bigger animals, it's usually in groups against weak, infirm specimens. A healthy animal the same size as a wolf can very well deter it.

The wolf doesn't have a choice. It must fight.

The wolf's thick fur will likely protect it from the blunt claws. The anteater's head looks extremely vulnerable too.

Giant Anteater wins this, the gray wolf is screwed. mind explaining why you think this? The anteater is too slow and the wolf to agile it will wear out and the kill the anteater.

^The Giant Anteater can easily use it's claws to slash the wolf's throat. Besides, Giant Anteaters have ripped open termite mounds, it won't have much trouble going through the wolf's fur and skin. Though the Grey Wolf could win if it got a bite to the snout and make it bleed or bite at the neck. But mostly, I see the Giant Anteater coming up on top.

The anteater has a low energy diet, it would be very easy to wear it out by darting in and out and then finishing it off when it cant fight back.

^True, now that you said it. I still vote for Giant Anteater, but I would put it like 60/40.

Although I will say that anteaters can be very dangerous, wasn't some zoo keeper killed by one back in 07? Yeah, but I'm pretty sure wolves have killed much more people than anteaters.

^I know. I'm just saying that wolves have killed more people than anteaters. Anyway, I think a big Russian wolf would definitely win.

These disemboweling claims are complete BS. Anteaters severely injuring large predators are freak cases. Not only are the claws not designed to tear flesh but i seriously doubt the anteater has sufficient arm strength to fatally wound a wolf with them. People act like anteaters have x-men style wolverine claws or something If someone tells me something but cant sight their source, I assume its a crock and I encourage others to do likewise. ^This guy gets it.
