Komodos almost always wins in the long run. In an actual fight though it would be a much closer battle. I'd slightly favor the boar on this one.

The boar's tusks could disembowel the dragon and throw it like a ragdoll. Even tigers and lions stand little chance against a prime mature boar. So a komodo has no chance.

Dragons hunt boar regularly, in fact on one island its there main prey item. Large dragons have scars from being hit by boar tusks, which tell us two things 1 yes dragons do get hit 2 the wounds inflicted are very survivable. komodos are more durable than cats and there method of attack is more effective when it comes to dealing with boar. The boar isnt going to ragdoll anything, the dragons low center of gravity will make it difficult to even knock over

I pick the Komodo Dragon again because of it's bite. It can kill the boar.

Animals like hunting dogs and big cats have been gored by boars. So I can't see a slower komodo dragon moving fast enough to dodge a charging boar in the fight.

Komodos eat boar all the time and seeing scars from tusks are not uncommon. which means that komodos are more than capable of surviving a charge and unlike cats or dogs wont be knocked over by the charge due to a very low center of gravity. with such thin lefs its not hard to cut thier tends with a single bite after that the dragon has already won all thats left is to sit back and watch the pig bleed out.

The boar that the komodo dragon takes on are relatively small, perhaps similar in size to the lizard itself. At equal weights I favor the komodo, as I feel its bite is devestating to ungulates. It can slice up a tendon and pretty much down the boar in a few seconds, rather then having to overpower it, which would be incredible difficult. The dragons low center of gravity could protect it from goring, although boars have gotten through komodo hide. So at similar weights, komodo 7/10, but a big boar from Russia would change the outcome due to their high ability to take out the komodo quickly, on size alone.

Dragon would win, they eat 150 kg boars all the time. Komodos don't need the venom, they're skin is already strong and they have knife-like teeth and a strong tail, stronger than a baseball bat.

Depends on the boar. A Russian or Romanian boar would easily kill the lizard. And I think any boar around 200 lb could kill a Komodo Dragon as well. Any boar that weighs lesser would probably lose though.

At similar and higher weights, I'd back the boar. A lizard will defeat a smaller boar though. So I'd agree with thylacoleo.

The Russian wild boar can weigh in excess of 700 pounds. I am myself very familiar with feral "razor-back" hogs. They have no fear of snakes and quickly gobble-up coiled rattlesnakes. The bloodstream of the hog runs slow; the snake's venom does a hog no harm. I doubt that the dragon's bite will kill a large wild boar.
