I know that I am among other reptile enthusiast, so I thought I might open a thread in regards. Maybe you could start by talking about the reptiles or amphibians you've had, have or plan to get.
I had Anoles as my first reptile. I was maybe five, I still remember the two tiny lizards in a terrarium shifting from brown to green. I don't really remember how long they lived but it didn't seem long enough. We had a lot of turtles and tortoises throughout my youth. My brother and I would also do lot of herping bringing home snakes, frogs, and even the occasional salamander. Most of these were ultimately set free of course out mother works for the Missouri Conservation Department. I had fire belly newts for a while too. It was our ninth birthday if I am not mistaken when we received our first iguana Godzilla. She wasn't our last iguana but grew to be the largest. She died tragically when her out door enclosure was knocked over by probably by a dog and was killed in an escape attempted. Later I kept a very large black rat snake in my moms basement for month. My parents weren't happy about this. I didn't keep reptiles through my later teens and early twenties which is probably good for the reptile kingdom as a whole. Since I have had kids its been a strict catch and release policy. My oldest boy was bit my a turtle we rescued on the highway so I took it for a sign. They seem to be ready now though so I decided for Christmas this year the were ready and I got a ball python. Its been very exciting so far and we let you know if anything interesting happens. Also got a pink toe tarantula though it doesn't belong in this thread.
So what about you?

Unfortunately I've never had a reptile as a pet. I have however had four different kinds of frogs over the years, first were two Oriental firebelly toads that I was given by my fourth grade teacher: Teeny and... well... Firebelly. After they passed on I had an ornate horned frog named Pascal, he died shortly after I got him, poor little critter, of reasons I am not sure of. For my last birthday I got a red-eyed treefrog that I in my infinite wisdom and odd taste in names, dubbed Larissca. He was beautiful but he was too advanced for me to care for, too prone to stressing, so I returned him to the petstore in the knowledge that he would recieve more skilled care. In exchange I got a very hardy White's treefrog that I have named Sven. He sings often but not Vaudeville.
If I get another herptile, I would honestly like a salamander. I've developed a strong affinity for them ever since that tiger salamander nearly bit my hand. Though I've still got a desire to care for a real reptile.

I keep tons of reptiles, right now I have twelve, including leopard geckos, carpet pythons, corn snakes, and my little blue tongued skink. My first reptile was a pair of anoles, that mated with each other, and eventually killed each other, we had made the mistake, and bought both a brown anole, and a green anole. So, that didn't really work out. when I was a teenager I bought a little baby boa who I named Rosy, she was the sweetest snake I've ever owned. She would seek out your attention at all times, if you were to take her outside, she would never leave your side, and would even follow me back into the house on her own accord. Once she even escaped from her enclosure, and climbed into bed with me, and my girlfriend (My girlfriend was less impressed than I was). Unfortunately Rosy just recently passed away, she got sick a while back, and I thought it was best to just have her put down. I miss her a lot. I was meaning to get another boa, but never got around to it. I own several carpet pythons, and they are very cool snakes, my newest edition is a young coastal jaguar carpet named Cypher, he's been growing like a weed, and has quite the attitude to him. Gotta love that little critter. I plan on purchasing a Tegu in a few months, (just have to find somewhere that will ship to B.C.)
PS. I understand that many of you know that I have fed feral cats to my snakes in the past, although I do not continue it any longer, I wish for it not to be brought up again, as I am quite sick of hearing people complain about me humanely killing animals, and putting their bodies to use. So just don't bring it up on this, or any threads.

Is the white's tree frogs name based on a certain bard from Skyrim by any chance?

Rosy followed you back to the house? That's a loyal snake.
I had a red-eared slider when I was young, REALLY young. His name was Billy. Well, then old Bill got a bit too large for our humble bowl, so my mother's friend took him in. He's still alive today.

I got my first lizard when I was 5. A bearded dragon named lizzy he died when he was roughly 9 years old. I then got my first collared lizard a female by the name dixie and then I got a pair of mistreated orange bearded dragons (for free), Blaze and Tank (an ironic name). Tank was stunted (his growth was slowed) and his brother quickly became much larger than him and one day ate him . Not too long after that I purchased a male collared lizard and named him dexter. He and Dixie got along very well (slept together and such). A little later I purchased Lilly she was being kept in a 10 gallon tank with 5 of her siblings. She got a 40 gallon to herself untill she was big enough to live with blaze. Mean while Dixie had become gravid, Despite me providing a proper nesting area she tried laying her eggs under her basking rock and when it shifted she and he eggs were crushed . Around the same time a purchased a savannah monitor, named it Abbot. Then I had to move. The stress of the event was too much for Dexter, He stopped eating and died . a while after that I picked up a another mistreated beardie by the name of Carl and that brings us to now. Right now everyone is doing great.

@ Ultimategrid: Nope, never played Skyrim (though that promotional statue in BestBuy was pretty epic). I just give my pets unique (some would say nonsensical) names.

Me and my sister had Leopard Geckos, but now they are with cousins of ours. I do however have a Corn Snake. Her name is Hiss and I still have her.
My sister recently got this frog that lives underwater.
As for the planning on getting. In the future. Well I plan on moving to Australia when I get older and I'm going to get myself a Lace Monitor. But first I'll need the experience to own one since they aren't beginner pets.

Yep, I've figured out that I can get him to croak if I imitate him to.

Has anyone ever owned a Pac-man frog? They had one at the local pet store yesterday. He seemed pretty cool, I have an afinity for animals that swallow large prey whole. I have never had exotic frogs. I used to keep firebelly newts and even a spotted salamander when I was younger but I don't anymore.
Any good or bad things you could tell me would be welcome.
