The giant otter is clearly distinguished from other otters by morphological and behavioral characteristics. It has the greatest body length of any species in the mustelid family, although the sea otter may be heavier. Males are between 1.5 and 1.7 m (4.9 and 5.6 ft) in length from head to tail and females between 1 and 1.5 m (3.3 and 4.9 ft). The animal's well-muscled tail can add a further 70 cm (28 in) to the total body length. Early reports of skins and living animals suggested exceptionally large males of up to 2.4 m (7.9 ft); intensive hunting likely reduced the occurrence of such massive specimens. Weights are between 26 and 45.3 kg (57 and 100 lb) for males and 22 and 26 kg (49 and 57 lb) for females. vs The giant snakehead or giant mudfish (Channa micropeltes) is the largest in the family Channidae, capable of growing to over 1 meter in length (3.3 feet) and a weight of over 20 kilograms (44 pounds). It is widely distributed in the freshwater of South East Asia and some regions of India. Other names include red snakehead, redline snakehead, Malabar snakehead, and Ikan toman (where ikan is "fish" in both Indonesian and Malay). The giant snakehead is known in Thai language as Pla Chado (Thai: ปลาชะโด).

^ Agreed. It looks pretty big. I don't think the Otter would win here.

You all realize this is an otter the size of a grey wolf! It specializes in hunting and killing fish, when fish are scarce they have been known to feed on caimen and anacondas. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giant_otter

I accidentally read it as "Sea Otter" this whole time! Never mind what I said then. The Otter wins. 7.9ft. and 100lbs is too much for the Snakehead.

Sea Otters, although not as long are heavier on average, the largest member of the weasle family with documented weights approaching 120lbs.
Both otters would dominate this fish.

I was going with more of the average Sea Otter weight, which is about 50-60ish pounds. Plus I was also considering the Snakehead's, teeth and jaws.

50 lbs is the low end for a male sea otter.

50 lbs is the low end for a male sea otter. Sorry. I was averaging both males and females. Then the male averages about 70lbs. I guess you're right. Even if it was a Sea Otter it would be a mis-match. This is even worse!

A river otter might be a decent match

I woudn't call this a mismatch since most river otters don't reach those upper weights.

They are still very large animals, as I said they size of a wolf, and specialized fish hunters. Most snakeheads dont reach those sizes either, that is just a maximum size.
