Nope, I only had 41 posts. I mainly posted in the patterdale vs nile monitor and the spotted hyena vs komodo dragon threads.

Some natural behavior. monitors are not picky eaters.

Yeah, all reptiles aren't slow and sluggish. Interesting video. Lol, the monitor fell off the trunk one time.

I never knew komodo dragons could run quickly. Perhaps we need to rethink some common principles regarding the mobility of monitor lizards. They aren't as sluggish as they look. The deer collapsing was probably the result of a severed Achilles tendon. Komodo dragons will attempt to cut it in larger prey. Once the prey is defenseless, it's easy feeding. Ultimategrid was bitten by a young crocodile monitor, he says it's the most painful experience he's ever had. The monitor wasn't biting at full force either. There's also the story of a crocodile monitor and a dog, which you may have heard. I have bad luck with croc monitors eh? (Or maybe good luck from a scientific point of view). And it's not that the monitor wasn't biting full force, it was simply that he only caught me by the side of his jaw. He didn't actually get a full on bite, he was trying, and if he did, I imagine it would be much more painful (Which is hard to imagine to be perfectly honest). I recently contacted my uncle from where the croc monitor/dog incident happened. Apparently there are tons of them running around there now, he said a 5 footer came by and snatched two of his chickens and maimed his dog (The dog is okay, it just got bit on the nose, but nearly bled out), he describes the same kind of biting one would imagine with a crocodile monitor, the single bite to the face, massive bleeding, and severe lacerations. Looks like Australia has themselves a new invasive species.

Might as well be a good thing seeing that the monitors are endangered. They just need to get them back to New Zealand or whatever.
