out of curiosity, how much damage will a giraffe's kick do to a megalania in your opinions? We know it can kill lions but megalania is much heavier than a lion and protected by tough scales. Its kicks not only seems wildly inaccurate (especially the rear leg kicks) but also no as damaging and powerful as they are made out to be. In ambush they dont even look like its kicks would into play but I doubt its kicks would kill but they could deter a predatory attack if the ambush failed.

I watched another version of that video and the narrator said the giraffe was tired. A lion pride could not bring down a strong bull giraffe ready to fight. A megalania could kill a female giraffe but not a bull IMO.
Other than the giraffe ungulates like elands, sumatran rhino, moose, camels, bison, should be within the megalania's killing ability.

Lions dont exactly have amazing stamina so there was probably not some long chase before hand. I see no reason why the sex of the giraffe would matter, unlike mamalian predators the megalania's hunting strategy does not require any kind of wrestling, tiring out or overpowering its prey just one good bite and everything else falls into place this allows them to take much larger prey animals than a similairly sized mammalian carnivore.

a megalania would have an easier time killing the aforementioned ungulates than a giraffe because they are much shorter and don't have massive reach with their kicks like a giraffe does.

I was asking rhino his stance on the giraffe/ rhino comment. I know A beating B and B beating C doesn't mean A beats C but his comment made me curious as to where he stood on the matter.

a sumatran rhino would beat a giraffe IMO.
But a megalania would have an easier time killing a sumatran rhino than a giraffe because: 1. The rhino is much shorter 2. the rhino's attack does not have the immense reach a giraffe's kick does. If megalania goes for the giraffe's legs, the giraffe can easily stomp/kick/crush the lizard's head before it can come anywhere the leg. Whereas a rhino can't do that.
It sounds weird but that's how I see it.
And any of the other 4 rhino species would be too large for megalania to kill.
