I find strange that some people would favour neanderthalis over a chimp but those same people would not fovour a human, the difference between us and neanderthalis is not all that big. the neanderthal is far more robust boned than a human. it's more intelligent than a chimp and has access to more advanced spears and what not. It's got this. I personally wouldnt say "far" more robust, certainly more robust but far more robust is over doing it. My point was that humans have the basically the advantages and disadvantages in this fight as a human yet people who favour the neanderthal and at the samectime not give people credit against the same opponent.

I favored the human in the man vs chimp thread.
Hell, I can kill a female chimp if my life was in danger.

All things being equal a chimp would be a huge task to take down. A weaponless human would fare poorly; an enraged neandetal would do better.

Neandertals are humans, just a different group. But I know you mean Homo Sapiens, and yes they were on average much stronger than us. The thing here is that Neanderthal people had better intelligence and tool making, especially the use of fire. Hypothetically this is superior to the chimp, but in reality it would be a close draw and could go either way, since it isn't likely the Neandertal would use fire against a chimp, instead they would do like they did with other animals: spear it or trap it and then kill it. However there's a chance the chimp could grab the spear shaft and break it, so in the end it would be a close draw, with it going either way.
