Yes, I know grizzly bears don't frequently hunt wild boar. But that doesn't mean it can't.

From here: www.pibburns.com/cryptost/foreshog.htm Male giant forest hogs do not tolerate the company of other males. Their fights are noisy, violent, and often result in injuries to both participants. Curiously the males may charge each other and butt heads, rather like some species of sheep. Forest hogs react fiercely to threats from other animals. Sometimes they even drive predators away from their kills. Forest hogs will attack humans if shot at. Natives report male hogs will attack without warning or provocation, presumably in defense of the group from potential danger. animals.nationalgeographic.com/animals/mammals/grizzly-bear/ Grizzly bears are powerful, top-of-the-food-chain predators, yet much of their diet consists of nuts, berries, fruit, leaves, and roots. www.bearsmart.com/resources/north-american-bears/behaviour Bears are not territorial. Being territorial means keeping other members of your species away from a given area. Wolves and primates are territorial – bears are not. Bears, like people, share home ranges. This mutual use of land and resources is a basis for bear social behaviour. It's hard to see a grizzly bear, a non-predatory and non-territorial animal wanting to seriously engage a GFH.

Brown bear predation on boar isnt common in most cases but some bears have taken to killing pigs. Of course the bears are usually quite a bit bigger then the suids they hunt. Giant forest hogs weigh up to 275 kilograms which is as heavy if not heavier than the average brown bear. And no, I don't think brown bears would be the best bears at handling large ungulates partly because of their blunt, straight claws made for digging.

The Ussuri brown bear ( black grizzly ) hunts and kills wild boar. Tigers hunt them too, killing them by ambush attack. But, in a face-off confrontation, the grizzly will be successful in this fight more often than would a tiger.

Just for the record - the Russian wild boar, which a grizzly can easily kill, is larger and probably more savage than the African giant forest hog.

That's uncommon though and most of the time the bear will fail.
Unless it is much heavier than the GFH, I don't like its chances.
