The caracal is a slender, yet muscular, cat, with long legs and a short tail. Males typically weigh 13 to 18 kilograms (29 to 40 lb), while females weigh about 11 kilograms (24 lb).[6] The caracal resembles a Eurasian Lynx, and for a long time it was considered a close relative of the lynxes. It has a tail nearly a third of its body length, and both sexes look the same. The caracal is 65 to 90 centimetres (26 to 35 in) in length, with a 30 centimetres (12 in) tail. Compared to lynxes, it has longer legs, shorter fur, and a slimmer appearance. vs Coyotes typically grow to 30–34 in (76–86 cm) in length, not counting a tail of 12–16 in (30–41 cm), stand about 23–26 in (58–66 cm) at the shoulder and, on average, weigh from 15–46 lb (6.8–21 kg).[3][12] Northern coyotes are typically larger than southern subspecies, with the largest coyotes on record weighing 74.75 pounds (33.91 kg) and measuring 1.75 m (5.7 ft) in total length. The coyote's dental formula is I 3/3, C 1/1, Pm 4/4, M usually 2/2, occasionally 3/3, 3/2, or 2/3 × 2 = 40, 44, or 42[15] Normal spacing between the upper canine teeth is 29–35 millimetres (1.1–1.4 in) and 25–32 millimetres (0.98–1.3 in) between the lower canine teeth.[16]

This is the size range where the cat and dog dominance starts to sway the other direction.

i personally know what a caracal looks like but maybe a better pic for those who don't. something displaying its full morphology would be great.

i have seen similar video of coyote bobcat interactions but the coyotes won the spoils. one on one though the coyote is going to have to change tactics. canids are the masters of harassment but its a lot less usefull when your solo. also arent jackals slighly smaller than coyotes?

I would favor. It has better weapons, speed and I usually favor cats as better killers than dogs of the same size category.

The coyotes certainly take the bobcat seriously.

Not really sure, but I might go with the caracal. It has better and more weapons, better agility and it is quite aggressive. The coyote does kill cats similar in size to it though (bobcats), so would the coyote maybe have an idea on who to attack it? Or is the caracal much too different from the bobcat that it wouldn't end the same way as bobcat vs coyote?
