The Eurasian lynx is the largest lynx species, ranging in length from 80 to 130 cm (31 to 51 in) and standing about 70 cm (28 in) at the shoulder. The tail measures 11 to 25 cm (4.3 to 9.8 in) in length. Males usually weigh from 18 to 30 kg (40 to 66 lb) and females weigh 10 to 21 kg (22 to 46 lb).[3][4][5] Male lynxes from Siberia, where the species reaches the largest body size, can weigh up to 38 kg (84 lb) or reportedly even 45 kg (99 lb).[6][7] It has powerful legs, with large webbed and furred paws that act like snowshoes. It also possesses a short "bobbed" tail with an all-black tip, black tufts of hair on its ears, and a long grey-and-white ruff. vs The lizard can grow up to 2.5 metres (8 ft 2 in) in length although the average length is around 1.75 to 2 metres (5 ft 9 in to 6 ft 7 in) and weigh up to 15 kilograms (33 lb) — maximum weight can be over 20 kilograms (44 lb). Their rival for third largest lizard is the crocodile monitor. Crocodile Monitors are longer, and often exceed 8 feet (2.4 m) in length, but perenties are heavier and bulkier than the crocodile monitor. However, Perenties are relatively lean lizards, less bulky than either the Komodo dragon or the water monitor.

That monitors neck looks fragile.
I do favor the lynx in this confrontation, felines tend to do well against reptiles.

The perentie is no push over. There bite shears snake boot leather like its paper and adults are known to fend off whole packs of dingos.

I was thinking the tail would be more of an issue than the bite. A cat will be focusing on the head/neck, so it will be hard for the lizard to land a bite.

The circumstances of this battle would be important too. A perentie is no komodo dragon. I dont doubt the dragon could trump a lynx, but I do like the cougars chances with the dragon.

Gato goes into this a bit here.... Eurasian lynxes regularly prey on piglets, and only tom lyxes occasionally prey on adults (two cases reported in a 10 year study in the Bialowieza forest). There is no direct information on the age/size or state of these pigs, though an adult boar in the Bialowieza forest should weigh at least (in extreme) 40 kg and about 60 kg on average, which is about 2-3 times the weight of the cat. Even if it is almost certain that these cases involved ambushes, I still regard it as an impressive predation and as proof that an Eurasian lynx has the capacity to kill a same weight competitor like a wolverine or a stray dog. Obviously a healthy adult boar is too much for a lynx in a fact to face match, and more so because these pigs forage in groups and the lynx is a solitary hunter. Thus lynxes give them a wide berth. The articles on lynx predation in Bialowieza mention that adult boars usurp lynx kills even when the cat is present. But an adult boar is already a dangerous and hard prey for wolves and leopards, so we shouldn't expect a smaller lynx (20-25 kg) doing better. I have an article on the effect of snow and climatic factors on the predation of wolves and lynxes in the Bialowieza forest. At least one of the two adult boars taken by a lynx male was killed in a very mild winter with very little snow, therefore, there is a good likelihood that it was not a staved ultra weak pig. You gotta admit the Monsters skull looks wicked. You got the worlds only real dragon and monster on your sig
